friday is finally here

after what felt like a long week (i think the snow day made it feel longer), friday is finally upon us. my good friend laura and her husband keith are coming up from lowell, ma to go to dinner in portsmouth tonight. this means i must clean the house. it is not my favorite thing to do, but not my least favorite, either. it hasn't been given a good scrubbing since before christmas break, so this will probably be good for it. i'm also glad we're going out to eat, because i have no food in the house. hopefully they don't want snacks when we come back.

in other news, i still have a lot of work to do this weekend.

new blog, new post

since i'm making my students create a new blog, i figure i'll also create a new one. there's something extremely cathartic in writing, even if it's only about your daily goings-on.

i went with sarah villard to the "vacuum hospital" today. it was great. there were a lot of faded bottles of carpet cleaner in the window, and the vacuums they had for sale were definitely not the kind you see in sears. they were much more exotic, if vacuums can be. all in all, an exciting trip.
